“We know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
Whatever God Allows Stems from His Perfect Love for Us
God loves us, and He has a plan for every happening in our lives. It is easy to read Romans 8:28 and focus on the “for good” part. But it’s important to remember that all the things we experience work together for the good God bestows on us. All things. That means our heartaches, our failures, our sins, our disappointments, our broken relationships, our betrayals—all of it works in sum to achieve just God purposed and ordained when He wrote our life books. God wastes nothing, and He gives great attention to the mundane, minute details of our circumstances.
If He allows us to experience a dark valley, or exceptional disappointment, you better believe that something great is on the other side of it—for our good and for His glory. When we are overcome by seemingly impossible or hopeless situations, rather than focusing on our pain, we can focus on the purpose God has for it, and on the praise report that is bound to come from it. Our Daddy collects every tear. And He is not in the business of wielding pain to His children; He is not that type of Father. His perfect love won’t allow Him to treat us that way. But He does use what the enemy aims for our harm, for our good instead. Always.
When trials and tribulations come —because they will —don’t look at the enemy. He’s a loser, and does not deserve our attention. Look to the lifter of our heads. He’s the one who holds the keys to death and hell. He’s got this, and He’s got us. He already crushed our enemies for us. And since we are seated in heavenly places with Jesus the Messiah, that means we win, too!

No matter what, no matter how tough, or painful, or trying, the end will be good for us. God makes all things good for us. He’s great like that.
Dear Daddy God, Thank You that You never abandon me. When I am at my lowest, You are still with me, loving me, protecting me, watching over me. Thank You that You have a purpose for every circumstance in my life: the triumphs, the failures, the heartache, the trials, the disappointments. Thank You for being right by my side when I am brokenhearted and crushed in my spirit, on the days when I have no idea how I will make it to the next day, or even the next hour. You are alive and well, and sovereign, and no one can knock you from Your throne. You are Elohim and El-Elyon, and You are the only one who can take the darkest of valleys, and flood them with your light and power so that I overcome. Even amid hard trials, You are still good. Thank You for reminding me that nothing that happens to me comes as a surprise to You, that You waste nothing, and that You have a purpose for everything. Thank You for making all things good for me. I love You and I adore You. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.“We know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28 Click To Tweet
